On the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of November, around forty volunteers lent a hand to plant 68 fruit trees and bushes in the schoolyard. This revegetation of the playgrounds of the primary school marks the second step of the “Permaculture” project of the French School in Warsaw, which is carried out in cooperation with the members of the group “Varsauvons la Planète ” from the association Varsovie Accueil.
The apple, pear, plum, walnut, and cherry trees were planted in large tubes made of recycled plastic and covered by wooden chips in order to protect them against winter.
A hedge of fruit shrubs was also planted in permaculture in the preschool’s schoolyard.
We would like to thank Łukasz Nowacki, our expert in permaculture, for his precious advice, and our sponsor, BNP Paribas Bank Polska for their financial support.
