The Lycée Français de Varsovie accepts children of French, Polish and of any other nationality. The school’s language of instruction is French
and the curriculum is set by the French Ministry of Education. The LFV offers a special enrollment program for students with little or no
French-speaking skills in order to facilitate their integration into the French education curriculum. At the end of CM2 class, all students who are not
of French nationality take the DELF PRIM exam (Certificate of French as a Foreign Language awarded by the French Ministry of Education)
at the A2 level. Each year 100% of the school’s students pass this exam.
The school year starts in September. However, it is possible to get your child enrolled during the year as well.
The school year is organised according to the instructions of the French Ministry of Education. The calendar alternates 7 consecutive weeks of learning separated by holidays. The school year takes into account public holidays in Poland and sometimes the LFV’s school holidays may overlap with those of the Warsaw region.
In both primary and secondary schools, there are about 20 students per class. Teaching is provided in different formats in order to encourage interaction between students: group work, school projects, experiments, use of multimedia tools, visits and school trips…
All our students have the opportunity, starting from preschool, to learn Polish as a foreign language or mother tongue. Non-linguistic extracurricular activities are also offered in Polish for primary school children. In high school, students can join the school’s International Polish program and thus take additional classes in Polish language, literature and history.
Learning languages is at the heart of our school’s curriculum. From preschool onwards, children learn three modern languages: French, Polish
and English. In middle and high schools, our students also learn German or Spanish and optionally study Latin. Therefore, 5 modern languages (+ Latin) are taught to students during their schooling at the LFV. In addition, many non-linguistic disciplines and activities are offered in order to support children’s growth in a foreign language (sports in Polish, theatre in English, life and earth sciences in English, etc.).
The Baccalauréat is the French national diploma that marks the end of secondary education and opens the gates to higher education.
It is recognized all over the world and benefits from the full recognition of the European Union. Compared to other diplomas, it is highly appreciated
by British, American, and foreign universities for its broad disciplinary scope and the possibility for students to present two modern languages
at the exam. With the 2021 Baccalauréat reform, students will also be able to choose 5 specialist subjects and sign up for optional courses in order
to complete their curriculum according to their professional and study plans.
